The Farmhouse is a traditional building with 4 double bedrooms, 2 reception rooms, 1 bathroom, 1 shower room, study/utility room and large kitchen with an AGA. It will comfortably sleep 8 people, but could accommodate 10 as there is a bed-setee available. It is decorated to a high standard throughout and furnished with good quality furniture. The kitchen is fully equipped, as is the dining room should you want to entertain during your stay.
The living room has a large open working fireplace and the dining room has a wood burning stove. The house is fully centrally heated and its water is supplied from a natural spring.
It is surrounded by mature gardens and rolling Welsh countryside with many defined and formal walks which can be reached directly from the Farm. It is situated at the end of a half mile track so is very isolated with no passing traffic. It is close to many local attractions, such as Big Pit, Cwmcarn Country Drive, and much more. A world class mountain bike course has been developed close to the farm which hosts competitions with entries from all over the world.
There is a brilliant cycle shop in Abercarn, PS Cycles, www.pscycles.co.uk, and they organise cycle tours for visitors who come from all over Britain. The farm would be an ideal place for cyclists to stay as there is plenty of room to service your bikes, wash them and keep them secure. Having a premises licence means we can also sell you cider of an evening! It is situated 20 miles from Cardiff, 12 miles from Newport, 10 miles from the market towns of Abergavenny and Usk. The Celtic Manor resort is 10 miles away which is hosting the Ryder Cup in 2010 and the Farm would be an ideal base if you are a keen golfer.
There are many good pubs and restaurants within the local area.
