We have been able to trace the farm back as far as early 18th century, as we are working on the conversion of a stone barn at the moment and this is when we think the barn was built. The barn was the original house, with the farmhouse being a relatively new build, early 20th century.
Prior to us moving here in February 2001, the farm was a sheep and cattle farm of about 160 acres. We purchased the farmhouse, all the outbuildings (of which there are many) and 25 acres of land which completely surround the farmhouse and buildings. As we are about 1000 feet above sea level, the fields are mainly sloping and include grazing fields, wildlife areas, formal gardens, vegetable garden, ponds and orchards.
We have posted some photos opposite of some of the gardens and ponds.
Annie was born and brought up in Glasgow and Andy is Welsh, brought up in St Athan. We both absolutely love living here and enjoy the peace, tranquility and beautiful views, even though we lived in a city for many years before. We don’t have any trouble parking our cars outside our house any more...!
We hope you agree with us and might join us for a short holiday some time. Enjoy the site.
